Newsletter - 5th Edition

Dear Friends,

Greetings!

It is always a pleasure to write to you and share current events and thoughts. Over the course of several months, conducting programs and interacting with professionals from diverse geographies; across sectors, across nationalities, my mind constantly wanders through the lanes of conscious inner thoughts often pondering “What does it really mean to continually be INSPIRED AND DELIVER high quality results?

EXECUTE WITH PASSION in the constantly challenging WINDS OF CHANGE is the inspiration for us. So much keeps changing around us and we are often left with the thought … Will I be able to cope up with the WINDS OF CHANGE.

Most of us are tuned to accept things the way they are given to us. We remain in a static state for most part of our lives hesitant to move beyond the boundaries of our mental impediments. We drift in our boats without the oars.

Sometimes then, a realization dawns on many; the urge to break free, to soar to new heights, to mould, to transform and to create a new beginning. This intense desire engulfs the purpose of our existence. LIFE… begins here!

The night drapes its black gown, and I write to you my friends, with the lyrics of the song “Wind of Change” resonating in my ears…

Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow dream away in the wind of change

This edition of the Newsletter focuses on the “Winds of Change” inspiring our lives….

2010 FIFA World Cup: Ke Nako-It’s time for Africa

The world cup slogan “Ke Nako” translates as “it is time”. Indeed, it turned out to be a time for Africa as a continent to showcase to the world it’s potential and opportunities. The world witnessed the happy spirit of the people of Africa-fighting against all odds and the sounds of Vuvuzela which will forever colour the pages of history.

Being an avid sports lover, I find football as a sport that truly is a wonderful display of thought and execution. The world’s most widely viewed sporting event saw some surprises this year. For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, neither the runners-up nor the champions of the previous edition had qualified to reach the Round of 16 in 2010 South Africa World Cup. Past glories are indeed not a guarantee to future success. Spain finally won the world cup and savoring the moment of glory is the youthful squad who had the abundant style and strength to make their first win. Three cheers to the new winners!

The Wonder Girls: Doing India Proud

In a country which traditionally has witnessed a few world class athletes,it is heartening to see Saina Nehwal and Tejaswini Sawant bringing laurels to the nation. Being ranked as world’s no. 2 according to the latest rankings of Badminton World federation – Saina added a new feather to her cap as a result of hat trick of victories in the world circuit (notwithstanding her quarter final loss in the World Badminton Championship in Paris). Tejaswini Sawant, secured a gold medal in the World Shooting Champion making her the first Indian woman to achieve the feat and not by merely excelling in schools exams. The new mantra of the Indian girls… seeking and conquering new challenges! The nation will look forward to these two to bring in more laurels for the country.

I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul. ~William Ernest Henley

From pulling off corporate India’s biggest acquisition-the Corus group to launching the cheapest car in the world, this man has braved all odds. From taking tough business decisions to bonding with the families of employees affected by the 26/11 terror attack, Ratan Tata is truly a leader of Global stature.

As he retires from the corporate world in December 2012, the world awaits with bated breath for the next successor who can truly takeover India’s $ 78 billion multinational conglomerate.

The Redwood Edge Strokes: Training Sessions

This season, I had the opportunity of conducting an exciting series of sessions pan India and globally for my very valued clients; primarily on Attitude Building for Customer Service along with sessions on Motivation, Selling Skills and Relationship Management, Leadership etc..

The message is clear. Being a catalyst and initiator constitutes the core competency for success in any enterprise and this arises out of the burning desire and determination to transform things for the better. Undoubtedly the most effective professionals today are the ones with the “fire in their belly”. The ones who believe in the power of Oneself! We are the architects of our destiny. The future is for us to unfurl. In the sphere of business and life it is not the “genius” that rules; rather “resilience” is the name of the game! So what keeps us waiting?

The world is waiting for us to imbibe the WINDS OF CHANGE as an ongoing process to EXECUTE WITH PASSION.

The Price of Greatness is Responsibility ~ Sir Winston Churchill
